Venerable Michael J. McGivney School opened in September of 2004. Students from three area schools as well as those new to the community made up the population in the first year.
Our school's patron, is Father Michael J. McGivney, who founded the Knights of Columbus. As a model for us, he demonstrated care and compassion for those in his community and we strive to do the same. Father McGivney was beatified by Pope Francis on October 31, 2020 and following his beatification, our school changed its name in recognition of his status within the Catholic Church. As of May 1st, 2021 our school is now Blessed Michael J. McGivney.
Our students can trace their roots back to more than 30 countries. This produces the rich diversity enjoyed by our community and allows for many opportunities to acknowledge and celebrate a variety of events.
Blessed Michael J. McGivney School is home to a Moderate/Severe Needs Class, which is made up of students from other schools in our family of schools as well as other families of schools. As a school community we draw strength from our school motto "Many Roots, Growing Together As One."
